The Must-Have Types Of Videos For Trade Shows

By April 19, 2016September 13th, 2023No Comments

At a recent tradeshow our team attended there were over 300 companies showcasing their products and services. It was a pleasure to see that most of them had dedicated a lot of creative input to come up with innovative booth designs and marketing tactics.

What was even more exciting was to see many of them showcasing professionally produced The Must-Have Types Of Videos For Trade Showstradeshow videos and displaying them in unique ways. But as one often sees , where there was good, there was bad.

Some companies had produced videos that didn’t make sense, had poor audio, cheesy graphics, or was amateurish. Some had used employees in their videos who didn’t know how to act. We even saw some booths with great video but a poor sense of placement and positioning. This urged our team to break things down for our customers who are planning to use videos for their next tradeshow events.

Here’s what you should know.

For starters, you need consider these three types of videos absolutely essential for your event:

  • Product Videos-These videos are produced to create hype for a new (or old) product. Sound Product Videosquality, voiceovers, music and video recording quality matters! This video is going to be attracting passerby’s attention. Preferably, keep it short and focus on features and pain points.
  • Explainer Videos-These videos are 30-90 second breakdowns of your product or service. Typically, they are all-motion-graphic videos. It is better to go with the ‘problem-solution-how it works-CTA’ script here. These videos can use metaphors or humor to help tell the story.
  • Brand Videos-This one is our favorite. A brand video is one that gives the essence of your company and taste of your organizational culture. The video works effectively to give a voice and personality to your brand.

The Placement

Now we come to perhaps the most important aspect here: the placement. Here are a few ways you can use these videos to ensure that they help you get the most exposure:

  • Product Videos-These videos should be on staff iPads in the booth. Each staff members should have an iPad with these videos on loop so that it can be quickly used to educate visitors about your products. Similarly, these videos should also be there on smaller screens mounted across your booth.
  • Explainer Videos-These video should be on multiple medium sized displays. Make sure these videos are also on loop on the sales staff iPads.
  • Brand Video-These videos are the gem of your tradeshow booth. They should be constantly played on larger screens, mounted higher in the booth. There are a lot of people in such exhibitions; therefore, this video will help attract eyes to your brand from faraway, and equally up close.
