What’s wrong with Your Marketing Video?

By January 8, 2015September 13th, 2023No Comments

Videos are certainly an influential force in today’s world. According to recent statistics, it has been reported that around 1 billion visitors are received by YouTube every month. But what does this mean to you? It means your business needs video, but it has to be good to be effective, so was it?

Did your previous video not yield as much attention as you wanted it to? Did it impress your target audience and compel them to act? Was it something for your competition to be jealous of?

You’re ready to produce your next video, but you’re looking for a new video production company. Los Angeles has many such companies, however, you need to scrutinize their work and their approach before you pick one. Keep these things in mind throughout the process of selection and think about your previous videos.

1. View count of your video is not the only thing that matters. Many organizations and brands delude themselves into thinking that if they are getting a good number of views it means that they are successful. While view count does matter, it only matters partially. The true measure of success is based upon the engagement and the actions that the viewers are driven to, after they are done watching the video. If the video goes viral but it doesn’t drive the viewer to do anything, it is not helping your brand or your organization. So go with a concept that will influence your viewer to either go to your website, watch more uploaded content on your YouTube channel, or to search for your brand.

2. If you think that the content of your video does not really matter, you are wrong. The content of your video matters a lot. There is a lot of marketing content on the web so you need to make sure the video not only looks good, but has a well-written script. Make sure the video company you pick has a pre-production process and the people necessary to write a script that includes the content you need.

3. The most common problem with corporate videos is that they can be boring or cheesy. There is no reason for this! If your video is one or both of those things, you didn’t hire the right video production company. Even the most mundane or complicated processes can be shared in a creative way.

4. People actually do read video descriptions. Don’t think that descriptions are totally irrelevant. You can add a link to your website in the description of your video and your website is simply a click away from the viewer. Also, when you add a video description that is enriched with relevant keywords, it becomes optimized for search engines.
