Here’s What We’ve Learnt From ‘The Pitch’

We’ve all seen ‘Mad Men’ and learned valuable lessons from it, even though it was a fiction TV series, based purely on the methods of advertising back in the 60s and 70s. From strained relationships to what goes on behind the scenes, the series highlighted the problems faced by advertising companies over 3 decades ago. But a lot those conflicts and challenges are still faced by video vendors and ad agencies today!

But ‘The Pitch’ is different. It’s real-life brands competing against each other, showing us different faces in the world of advertising that we have never seen before. And what’s even more interesting about the series is that even the bold and brash moments make us pause for a couple of seconds and re-evaluate our own professional life.

With that in mind, here’s what we’ve learned from the Pitch:

Find Your Passion

It’s what we do as businesspersons, as entrepreneurs. We’re passionate about an idea, an invention, a concept, etc.

It’s important not to lose that passion and drive. It will take you great places. But it’s also important to look for something else when one thing does not work. In some episodes, such as the case of Pasadena Advertising, one of the problems was the clash in interest and personalities of those working together. Throughout the series, you think, “They should just call it quits,” but some things work out, while others don’t.

It’s important to find what drives you to achieve your goals, and for everyone, that holds a different meaning.

Take Care of the People You Lead

Sometimes, problems arise when you have different people working on one project and their minds don’t connect. But when the one leading the project starts giving up, it takes a toll on everyone. We’ve all been there. But it’s important to remember that nothing ventured, nothing gained. Sometimes, all you need is a break to get you back in the game.

Hire a Professional Video Content Agency

Don’t go for cutting costs when you’re producing a commercial or video content. It can be tempting giving the workload to a new recruit or another employee but remember that it’s better to hire a professional than to spend time fixing the amateur mistakes rookies make or scraping a video that doesn’t reflect your high-quality brand. It’s time-consuming and expensive.
