336 Productions’ Street Cred Rises

When Bad Juju Games approached and asked us to film spray paint artists Sket One and Nick Sawyers paint a bus to promote the new Tekken Tag Tournament 2 video game, we jumped at the chance!  Our job was to document Sket One and Nick spray paint the bus, and edit the footage into a video that would be played at E3 2012.  This plan was hatched by Bad Juju Games as a way to announce Snoop Dogg’s involvement in the video game.  The game’s developer and publisher, Namco Bandai Games, would make the big announcement at E3, with Snoop pulling up to the conferencein this bus.  Our video played during Namco’s presentation at E3.

We filmed at a secret location since Snoop Dogg’s involvement in the game wasn’t going to be shared until E3, but it didn’t stop passers-by from pulling over in their cars and snapping pics.  Watching a good, old-fashioned street art session with Sket One and Nick was amazing.  They spray painted non-stop for three whole days under the intense sun.  Their mastery of the art was something to behold.  Fun fact: the bus was originally an American Idol tour bus, with American Idol graphics covering the whole thing.

Sket One is a well-known illustrator, painter, and designer, who has worked on campaigns for Ford, EMI and numerous other companies.  Nick Sawyers is a longtime artist as well, and currently holds the title of Senior 2D Art Director at Bad Juju Games.

Bad Juju Games is a Southern California based entertainment media company that focuses on mobile, console and portable game development.  They are one seriously cool group of artists and developers who are at the forefront of mobile gaming technology.  You can see their talent in the video – they created all the cool animations featured throughout it.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2, which came out for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 11, 2012, features Snoop Dogg in all his glory, with new music from the hip hop legend, as well as a special bonus Snoop Dogg level.

I know what you’re thinking, “did they get to meet Snoop?”  Sadly, no, but we’re not giving up hope that someday it will happen.

Working with the team at Bad Juju was a blast, and we plan to continue to collaborate with them on future video production projects.  Stay tuned for more updates on where and when we’ll be exploring new terrain with the Bad Juju team.
